Do the show writers forget that Rachel is Jewish and doesn't celebrate Christmas? Do they forget that she's Jewish until it is convenient for their plot purposes?
Or maybe they actually thought out Rachel's character and have backstory and lots of personality and/or upbringing reasons she celebrates Christmas and is completely okay with being part of Christian religious morality tales. Maybe they've actually fleshed out this aspect of her character and just haven't bothered to convey it well enough for me to understand.
