If you want a long, epic-length Doctor Who fic detailing River Song's life from River Song's point of view, I just finished reading A Life Full Of Spoilers by Irony_Rocks, and it was absolutely lovely. It's all about how River Song's life does and does not work out, the adventures she goes on with the Doctor and the ones she goes on independently of the Doctor, and I think it basically manages to fanwank, handwave, and/or better explain most of the problems I have with her timeline in canon. I'd give you specifics, but that'd be a Spoiler -- go read for yourself! :D
