Thoughts as I walked home today
Jun. 8th, 2011 09:23 pmAs I walked home from the grocery store with my arms full of groceries, trying to race the storm (and losing), it occurred to me that if my life were a Korean drama, this would be the perfect opening.
This would be the moment where some incredibly attractive, kindhearted guy (of the appropriate age) was walking by and took pity on the drowned rat of a girl who's about to get soaked, and offered to walk me home under his umbrella. And then of course, I wouldn't speak Korean and he wouldn't speak English, and we would have a few wacky hijinks resulting from cultural/linguistic misunderstandings, but end up with some sort of romantic connection.
Of course, if my life were a Korean drama, then this sweetheart of a guy would end up the Secondary Male Lead, and some complete asshole who's making my life miserable would end up showing his soft vulnerable side (and angsty backstory), and I would suddenly forgive him for every completely obnoxious thing he's done and end up with him.
And none of this takes into account that I am way too paranoid to ever let any guy walk me to my place because then he would know where I live!
