I mean, I've always known that people have completely different tastes than me sometimes but ... some people seem to want everything explained to them, and are quite obsessed with finding out years and timeframes, whereas these are hardly ever things that bother me. I am okay with wading through new slang and new vocabulary and not knowing what any of it means.
I think this comes through in my writing, too, but of course it's more of a problem in my writing. As a reader, I make intuitive guesses based on what I've learned and keep up with the plot and worldbuilding. As a writer, I make intuitive guessed based on what I know about my plot and my worldbuilding but .... sadly the reader does not have access to my brain and so has no idea what is going on.
