This is my very first Yuletide letter — thanks very much for writing for me! I’ve briefly described some of the things I like or would be interested in, but of course one of the best things about fic is the way it can go in unpredictable directions and still be intensely satisfying. In other words, these ideas are meant to help inspire you, but not to constrain you.

Lizzie Bennet Diaries (Lydia Bennet, Mrs. Bennet, Caroline Lee, Gigi Darcy) (I left the characters choice blank which I think should indicate to the algorithm that I’m ok with fic about any of them!)

I would be interested in fic about any/all of the characters in the tag set! These are the characters I’m most intrigued by in the LBD universe, and I’d love to learn more about any of them, what motivates them and/or what they do post-canon. They’re all (maybe with the exception of Gigi) complicated people, and complicated people make for the best stories.

Why is Mrs. Bennet the way she is? Does she ever find out about the videos? What does she think about them? What does Lydia do after the series ends? How does she move forward? What motivates Caroline Lee and how does she recover from such a marked PR mishap recorded on the internet? How does she reconcile with Bing? And, of course, I love Gigi and the way she shipped Lizzie & Darcy harder than any of us.

Emelan (Trisana Chandler, Briar Moss)

I fully admit that I ship Tris and Briar SUPER HARD but I am just as down for gen — I like their relationship and it doesn’t have to be romantic.

Alternatively, I am desperate for fic about Tris at Lightsbridge. Tris may be my favorite character (it rotates), and I love the idea of her pursuing academia while keeping her Super Special Powers a secret, and trying to be normal. One of my favorite narratives kinks is secret powers, secret identities, secret backstories, etc., and Tris at Lightsbridge hits all of them.

Nirvana in Fire 2 (Xiao Pingjing, Lin Xi)

I just want them to be happy together post-canon. I love Lin Xi and how strong-willed she is, that she places value on her own ambitions and desires, and I love that Xiao Pingjing is willing to go along with her. I know the point of NiF is not the ships, but I shipped them super hard and I want to know more about their happily ever after — as sweet or as plotty as you want it to be. I imagine them going around, making medical discoveries and righting wrongs across the land, like itinerant superheroes. Or possibly just relaxing and enjoying their retirement, as they’ve earned it.
