OMFG SHERLOCK
Jan. 2nd, 2012 01:17 amI alternated between loving and hating this episode (mostly because Moffat kept JERKING my heart. I cried EVERY SINGLE TIME Irene died. My sister laughed at me for crying, even) but I ended up with a burning desire to rewatch it and catch all the things I missed, so I'm pretty sure that lands me firmly on the side of loving it.
I do have an awful lot of thoughts about Irene Adler (I love everything about her and her relationship with Sherlock so much), and of course Mrs. Hudson was amazing and I secretly write lots of mental fanfic where Molly is secretly badass. (Although clearly it's been a long time since I rewatched Sherlock, as I didn't recognize either Molly or Anthea if that's who she was -- this is what comes of familiarizing yourself with canon via reading fanfic as opposed to rewatching canon.) I am sad that Sarah is gone, I don't think I saw Sally at all, there wasn't enough Lestrade (though of course I appreciated the "How many times did he fall out the window" moment), and Moriarty and Mycroft kind of bore me.
I want lots of fanfic now.
