I am ridiculous
Jun. 21st, 2011 10:57 pmSo for a variety of TMI reasons, I tried to restrict myself to a diet of fruits and vegetables over the weekend.
Yeah.
It wasn't until Sunday night that I sat back and realized most people define "a diet of fruits and vegetables" as "only eating fruits and vegetables".
Whereas for me, it meant "let's eat lots of fruit" and "let's eat a bite of a vegetable because potatoes totally count as vegetables" and "let's eat lots of other random stuff because somehow in my head fruits and vegetables really just means don't eat meat" which evolved to "but if I absolutely must eat meat because I am in a social setting and I hate vegetables then oh well" which then evolved to "cleaning out my fridge of leftovers is virtuous and so is almost like restricting myself to fruits and vegetables".
So my "diet of fruits and vegetables" included lots of fruit, of course, plus potato salad, plus a beef and avocado burrito, plus cereal plus leftover noodles and chicken (which was cooked with cilantro which totally counts as a vegetable!).
Which is ... so NOT the definition of fruits and veggies. In my defense, there was actually a lot of cooking that went on this weekend so I was actually being very healthy if not healthy in the way I had originally intended.
None of that helped, of course, as I ended up getting sick anyway and over the course of an hour today, lost my voice.
