Dear Hye Mi's mother: That is the worst plan I have ever heard. It was crafted for maximum angst and minimum common sense.

Dear Sam Dong: Shut up with your "Hye Mi doesn't have me in her heart." Guess what. Generally speaking, especially in teen romances, family trumps possible love interest any day. Stop whining about it. It's not a big deal that she'd rather be in the same country with her family than with you -- this is her family we're talking about. Ask Jin Guk. He'll tell you how important family is.

Dear Hye Mi's dad: Okay, so I don't like Hye Mi giving up her opera music either. I think that if classical voice is her dream that she should stick to it, and especially since this is a fictional universe and not the real world then she should really be consistent and stick to it. (Sadly, the real world has no sense of narrative foreshadowing and/or inevitability and so people in the real world are wishy-washy all the time and are Very Certain about something only to Change Their Minds, because that's life. In fiction, though, if you have a dream, you're supposed to Stick To It and then inevitably Succeed.) However, regardless of my opinions of what she should or should not stick to, there is ONE person who decides what Hye Mi's dream is, and that is Hye Mi. See, even Kang Teacher didn't try to push her either way. So considering you've been gone for a year and really have no idea what is going on in her life, stop going on about what her dream is and let her figure it out for herself.
