What I do on an atypical Saturday night
Mar. 19th, 2005 11:47 pmSo, I went to the Big Band Dance tonight, falling to the persuasions of my friends.
Well, i stayed there for an hour, eating the snacks and watching the swing choir dance, before my friends and I ditched the danc eand went to Jason's house, where I spent roughly another hour, borrowing a book and then wathcing the beginning of Star Wars (because it's a crime that I haven't seen any but the oldest one.)
By then, i'd realized that I really wasn't paying attention to the movie, talking instead to Andi about HP authors. Exchanging fanfic author names, etc.
So, we ditched Jason's house (we pretended we were just going home -- I'd have felt guilty but they have a tendency to go out to lucnh together as a group without ever thinking of mentioning it to me except in passing afterwards, despite the fact that htye are essentially what I consider my closest friends) and went to Andi's house where she sent me an email with recs, some of which will be good and some of which I've read before but she assures me that the later parts are great, and I recced herstuff.
And I came home before midnight.
Everyone else is asleep, and I'm on writing on my livejournal, and I don't really knkow why.
On the brght side, i'm in the middle of reading six different books.
I've five chapters into my reread of O Jerusalem, fifty pages into my reread of Terry Pratchett's The Truth, ten pages into my reread of Good Omens, two chapters into my reread of Harry Potter 5 (I have to reread it once before the sixth book comes out), three and a half plays into my reread of Agatha Christie's plays, one page into my reread of David Eddings's The Ruby Knight, and five pages into my first foray into Picture of Dorian Gray.
And I have fanfics I shouod get around to, and fanfics I want to reread, and books I want to reread (I have rediscovered my love for Gilbert Blythe) and manga I'm working on (just finished Love Hina, am on Chobits, yet am still twenty chapters into Rurouni Kenshin, and my computer is going to die due to all of these GBs of manga I have copied on here ... I wish I had a CD burner, but am going to eventually have to figure out how to use my sister's (she has a laptop ... I don't), and ...
I'm just kind of tired. I still have a research paper to write on I'm-not-quite-sure-what and a French movie to film with hopefully-reliable partners (I swear, even the smart kids exclude me ... despite the fact that my groups in French and in Math always finished quickest and most correctly, they never, ever choose me to be in their groups) and an AP Government test to study for (What do I know about government? Nothing ...), scratch that, an AP government test to register for (that is, if I don't want to pay $50 in late fees), and Math SAT II registration coming up (If I miss the deadline, on Tuesday, I'm going to laugh) and ...
I really did think the stress was going to end after SATs.
