Thoughts Upon Reread, Chapters 9-12
Ch. 9
-I agree with Ron. Hermione is amazing.
-Gray coffee? Ugh.
-Building society money = ?
-Don't Dolohov and Hermione have a certain amount of history?
-*coughcough* "Harry heard [Hermione] mutter a suggestion as to where Ron could stick his wand instead..."
-First time through, I thought Moody was alive, and grew elated but ... no.
-Also, what is the point of going through six books forcing yourself to say Voldemort's name, if suddenly, in the seventh, you have to relearn how to avoid saying his name?

Ch. 10
-Sirius and his rebellious nature ... -sigh- ...
-Wormtail/Marlene McKinnon OTP? Not really, but ...
-Okay, Harry, seriously. "Don't listen to Skeeter's stupid lies" =/= "Choose what to believe." Does Skeeter tell the truth when not blackmailed by Hermione? No! Stop wangsting about people telling you not to listen to stupid people, complaining that these people are hiding the truth from you.
-Regulus was a Seeker?
-Oh ... the story, with Regulus, and with Kreacher ... oh, it almost made me tear up. It's so sad ...

Ch. 11
-Eating moldy bread will generally give you a stomachache, right?
-I feel sorrier for Scrimgeour (and willing to spell his name correctly) now that I know how he died ... tortured, and not giving away Harry's secret.
-Ted! Andromeda! The Tonkses! Oh, dear.
-I actually think that Harry did what was right in the Lupin case. Lupin is so used to everything in his life going wrong that he's not seeing very correctly, so used to clouds that he seems them every time a silver lining appears. And Harry really does have the right to scold him about abandoning his kid, because Harry knows what it's like without parents.
-Oh, Harry, he's being kind to Kreacher. I'm so happy about that.
-dun dun dun ... I reread this part several times because I was so sure that Umbridge was dead or insane after the centaur thing that I couldn't believe they were bringing her back in. I mean, she'd come back in dystopian fanfic a lot, but I didn't actually expect this of canon. Come to think of it, a lot of his book reeked of dystopian fanfic, which isn't a bad thing.

Ch. 12
-Oh my goodness! I totally didn't notice the reformed Kreacher on first read!
-Merlin's pant's? Why his pants? And of course, Ron picks it up iwth "Merlin's most baggy Y fronts" -- but aren't Y Fronts underwear?
-Ron and Hermione really counterbalance each other nicely, I have to say. Harry does all the emotional wangsting and destiny-driven shtick. Hermione does the thinking, and Ron does the thing where he smooths the passageway of knowledge between Hermione and Harry, knowing when to get Hermione to leave it alone.
-"the slightly manic expression that Harry associated with exam review"
-I feel so, so bad for Kreacher now that I know he doesn't show up again from the remainder of the book, since everybody has to abandon Grimmauld Place. (At least, I don't think he does ...)
This is taking more time than I thought it would.

And I loved how Kreacher was being nice and everything. One story and a present...and BAM! All's well between them.
It's rather sad the they can't get Kreacher to help them more. Too bad he can't leave the house...without permission or however that works.
