It doesn't help that the Vorkosigan covers are always so awful. I tried to convince a friend to start the Vorkosigan series once while I had Civil Campaign with me, and one look at the front cover and she said no, because it looked like a Harlequin romance novel. I know I passed by Warrior's Apprentice a billion times in the library because the cover looked ... not my thing.
